The Society for the Anthropology of Consciousness
http://sacaaa.org/
This interdisciplinary group has for decades explored the intersection of anthropology and consciousness studies. The Society’s journal is the go-to source for relevant material on cross-cultural approaches to healing, shamanism, altered states of consciousness, dreams, language and related topics. The Annual Meetings feature actual experiences of the phenomena being studied. The Society is a warm and welcoming sanctuary for free and radical thinkers who may feel out of place in other academic settings.
